The annual Neuroethics conference organized the INS and its partners features a wide range of exciting talks, discussions, and networking opportunities for students, scholars and professionals from all disciplines and regions around the world.
Attendees describe themselves as neuroethicists, bioethicists, educators, neuroscientists, philosophers, physicians, lawyers, psychologists, and engineers. The meeting typically attracts about 150-200 in-person attendees and about 200 virtual participants from all around the world.

The most recent conference took place on April 15-17, 2026 with locations in Stanford, Lucca and Stellenbosch. The theme was ‘Building Bridges and Cultivating Community.’ This event is organized in collaboration with the Società Italiana di Neuroetica and the Stellenbosch University Department of Psychiatry.

Host Proposals
The INS accepts host proposals for future conferences. Organizers interested in hosting the multi-day, hybrid conference at their institution are encouraged to submit a letter of interest.
Planning Process
For many years, the event was held as a satellite event prior to the Society for Neuroscience annual conference. The event moved to April in 2024. See details about past meetings.
The Program Committee leads efforts to organize the meeting. Committee members possess a broad range of backgrounds and perspectives, and work together to develop a theme and assemble a program with engaging sessions, presentations, and activities that span a wide range of topics related to neuroethics.
