Updates
Submit Your Neuroethics Research to the Conference in Madrid
The International Neuroethics Society (INS) and its partners invite students, researchers, and professionals from around the world to submit research abstracts related to neuroethics for presentation at the Neuroethics 2027 conference on April 7-9, 2027. The conference includes opportunities to participate online or in-person in Madrid, Spain.
We welcome research that addresses any topic or issue related to neuroethics and the ethical, legal, clinical, social, and policy considerations raised by brain sciences and technology. Topics may, but are not required to, align with this year’s theme: ‘Neuroethics at a New Frontier: Brain, Body, Data, and the Human Condition.’ Authors with an accepted research abstract will be invited to either present a poster or give a talk, with options to present in-person or online.
The call for abstracts is posted and we are now accepting submissions. The early submission date is November 5, 2026, and the final deadline for submissions is January 21, 2027. Early submission ensures you will receive an acceptance decision in December. Authors who will travel internationally to the conference are strongly encouraged to submit early.
There are no restrictions or limitations regarding an author’s program, discipline, or area of study. We especially welcome abstracts from our colleagues from marginalized groups and/or with perspectives that are underrepresented in the field. Review the research abstract call for complete details and instructions for submitting authors.
Registration and Pricing are Available

We encourage all participants to register early to get the best rates.
Discounts are also offered for groups, classes of all sizes, scholars from select countries, and people attending in-person only one of the three days. These offerings provide up to 50% savings for eligible in-person attendees and up to 80% for online participants. We’ve also assembled several resources for traveling to and staying in Madrid.
Theme and Featured Tracks for the Neuroethics 2027 Conference
The theme for the Neuroethics 2027 conference is: ‘Neuroethics at a New Frontier: Brain, Body, Data, and the Human Condition.’ The theme is intentionally broad, inviting participants to examine how developments in brain science and technology are reshaping some of the central questions of neuroethics — from identity, agency, privacy, and responsibility, to care, justice, and our understanding of consciousness and meaning. Many of the sessions and panels developed by the Program Committee and submitted by scholars will discuss how neuroethics is uniquely positioned at this new frontier to bridge conversations that too often remain separate.
The organizers have also identified several topical tracks they expect to highlight in the program. Researchers are encouraged to consider these areas of inquiry as they design and develop their session proposals. A call for proposals will be released in the coming weeks.
